SWTOR Is Freeing Up Inactive Character Names Next Month

Ever tried to roll a new character in Star Wars: The Old Republic only to find your dream name already taken? You're not alone. Names like Jubba the Hutt, Baba Foot, Han Duo, Princess Lisa, Chowbacca, Dork Vadar, and Rey You're-Not-A-Skywalker have all been snatched up by someone else. But here's the good news: next month, SWTOR is preparing to release inactive character names, so you might finally get your shot at snagging one of those coveted titles.

If you've been sitting on a name you've always wanted but couldn't use, this is your moment. The game is clearing out names that belong to characters who haven't been active, freeing them up for other players. It's a fresh start for anyone who's been bothered by the lack of available names.

So what does this mean for you? If you've been yearning to play SWTOR but held back because your favorite name was taken, now's the time to jump back in. Whether you're after something silly like Baba Foot or a clever pun like Han Duo, the pool of available names is about to get a whole lot bigger.

Of course, there's no guarantee you'll get the exact name you want—other players will be competing for the same freed-up names. But with a bunch of inactive names hitting the market, your chances are better than they've been in a while.

Keep an eye out for the exact date next month, and start planning your character's new identity now. Maybe you'll finally be able to claim that perfect name you've been eyeing.

What do you think? Will you be picking up one of these freed-up names? Let us know in the comments!
