Kingdom Hearts Collection Launches Today, Traditional Chinese Subs Coming 2027

Ready to dive back into Sora's wild journey? The Kingdom Hearts Collection [I-III] just launched today across multiple platforms, giving fans a massive bundle to sink their teeth into right now.

The collection packs three major releases: Kingdom Hearts -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX-, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind. Together they cover the series' biggest adventures, including Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Birth by Sleep Final Mix, and Dream Drop Distance HD, plus some story cinematic content to fill in the gaps.

You can grab all three right now on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox on PC. That's a whole lot of Keyblade swinging available on day one.

But here's the catch for Traditional Chinese-speaking players: subtitles in Traditional Chinese won't be ready at launch. Square Enix plans to add them via an update in early summer 2027. So if you want to follow the story in Traditional Chinese, you'll need to wait a bit longer.

Why 2027? That's when the Kingdom Hearts series hits its 25th anniversary. It's also the year the next mainline entry, Kingdom Hearts IV, is scheduled to arrive in late 2027. The game will land on Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, and Epic Games Store.

So the timing makes sense: Square Enix is lining up the collection's Chinese subtitle update right as the franchise celebrates a huge milestone and builds hype for the next chapter. For now, though, you can play through the classics in other languages while you wait.

Will you be picking up the collection today, or are you holding out for the Traditional Chinese update in 2027? Let us know in the comments!
