The announcement came at the end of Tubbo's stream, right after the Blue Creeper Battle wrapped up. That event kicked off on September 17, 2026, at the Tokyo Game Show, online via YouTube, and even in-game in Bedrock Edition worlds. The Illager High Council opened rifts to the real world from the Sift—a new dimension coming to Minecraft Dungeons 2. Soul-corrupted mobs poured through, including a massive Blue Creeper at TGS.
To celebrate, 1 million Corrupted Creeper Cape codes were handed out to participants and Twitch viewers via Drops. After players finally took down the Blue Creeper, a cinematic played thanking everyone and teasing the Illagers discovering a portal to the Sift. While the Sift is confirmed for Minecraft Dungeons 2, many are now speculating it could also arrive in the base game.
If that happens, it would be the first new dimension since The End was added back in 2011. That's a 15-year gap, which is why this could be the biggest update in Minecraft's history. Of course, nothing is confirmed yet—Mojang hasn't spilled the beans on what's coming next. But the signs are pointing to something huge.
