PlayStation fans, you might want to sit down for this one. A Reddit user by the name of KekanKok recently put together a massive roundup of every announced, rumored, and leaked project currently in the works across Sony's first-party studios. Fair warning: your wallet is going to be in serious trouble over the next few years.
Let's start with Bungie. Development on Marathon isn't exactly going smoothly, so the studio has decided to give Destiny another shot. Whatever that project ends up being, don't expect it anytime soon. In Bungie's own words, "Destiny is the cornerstone of Bungie's future. We have more stories to tell and more worlds to build, but we have to do things right and give our team the time they need to live up to this amazing universe." Meanwhile, a community manager job listing suggests a new service game is targeting a 2027 start, and Jason Schreier has said we might see it within "a year or two."
Over at Guerrilla Games, there's a cartoony Horizon co-op game in the works. Bloomberg reported it's being rebooted after negative player feedback, with progress set to be evaluated in December. According to Jason Schreier, it's still a long way off because Horizon: Hunters Gathering is eating up most of the studio's devs. There's also another project reportedly in very early development, being co-developed with an external studio — possibly People Can Fly, which is working on a PlayStation IP codenamed "Delta."
Insomniac Games is juggling a ridiculous amount of projects. There's a Venom game reportedly launching in 2027 with Eddie Brock as the lead, Carnage as the main villain, and Anti-Venom showing up in some form. Then there's Marvel's Spider-Man 3, targeting 2028, featuring Peter, Miles, and Silk as three playable protagonists, with Green Goblin as the big bad commanding an army — and Spider-Man 2099 might appear too. A Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart sequel called Ratchet & Clank: Rag Tag Team is pegged for 2029, following the duo as they discover a full Lombax society living in a city wrapped in a dimensional containment field, with a female Lombax as the villain. There's also Marvel's Wolverine, which could tie into a post-credits tease for Apocalypse, and several new IPs — Subject Zero, Generator, Pearl, and The Quarter — potentially arriving in 2031 or 2032.
Media Molecule has a game inspired by Animal Crossing and Story of Seasons reportedly launching in 2027, to be revealed next year. Naughty Dog, as always, is busy. Neil Druckmann is directing a new project inspired by Elden Ring's player freedom, possibly with customization like tattoos and swords, but it won't be shown until next year. Shaun Escayg is directing another game in development since 2022, planned to follow Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, with Nathan Drake appearing in some form — though the dual-protagonist rumor involving his daughter Cassie has been debunked, at least for now. Druckmann has also repeatedly hinted at a new The Last of Us project with multiple storylines, including Tommy's story and more Fireflies lore. Naughty Dog recently confirmed two new TLOU projects are in early development that will expand the canon beyond Parts I and II — one is likely The Last of Us 3, and the other is a mystery.
Polyphony Digital's Kazunori Yamauchi said back in 2023 that he's already thinking about the next Gran Turismo. Santa Monica Studio has God of War: Laufey launching February 16, 2027, directed by Ariel Lawrence, reportedly following Faye and Tyr across different mythologies including Maya and East Asian. Cory Barlog confirmed at SDCC that a Kratos-led God of War will come after Laufey and connect to its story. Christopher Judge hinted at a brand-new combat system, and leaker Erfan says a full 2D trilogy was once planned, with its continuation depending on how the first game performs.
So yeah, PlayStation fans are eating well. Which of these are you most hyped for? Let us know in the comments.
