MTG Darkhold Destiny Preorders: Where to Buy Before April 2027

Wondering where to buy MTG Darkhold Destiny without getting ripped off? You're not alone. Marvel's supernatural new Magic: The Gathering set has everyone buzzing, but finding it in stock is trickier than you'd expect.

Right now, only Amazon and TCGPlayer are actually selling the set. Other retailers will probably jump in before launch, but for the moment your options are slim. Here's the catch: TCGPlayer sellers have artificially bumped their prices from day one. Unless you're chasing hard-to-find items like the Collector Booster Box or Collector's Edition Commander Decks, Amazon is your safer bet.

Let's talk Commander decks. Strange Academy, Midnight Sons, Gods of Asgard, and Lords of Hel all run $74.99 at Amazon versus $100 on TCGPlayer. Collector's Editions go for $280 each on TCGPlayer, while Amazon lists a $639.96 bundle. For boosters, a Play Booster Box is $209.70 at Amazon or $230 on TCGPlayer, and the Collector Booster Box sits at $750 on TCGPlayer.

Bundles and boxes follow the same pattern. The standard Bundle is $69.99 at Amazon versus $100 on TCGPlayer, the Arcanum Bundle is $99.99 versus $200, Prerelease is $70 on TCGPlayer, Draft Night is $119.99 at Amazon versus $150, and both Scene Boxes — Skirmish at the Sanctum and Assault on Asgard — are $41.99 at Amazon versus $70 on TCGPlayer.

So when does it all drop? MTG Darkhold Destiny launches April 9, 2027, though some items arrive later — the Arcanum Bundle is listed for April 30. This isn't a small crossover either. It's a full MTG release with Play and Commander Boosters, a Prerelease box, four Commander decks, two Bundles, two Scene Boxes, and a Draft Night box.

Collectors have plenty to chase. There are four Collector's Edition Commander Decks with surge foil cards, a special Arcanum Bundle with retro comic art and a mechanically unique card, plus Collector Boosters. The top chase card is the Time Stone, available only in Collector Boosters.

Unlike previous Marvel MTG sets, Darkhold Destiny features an original story with a brand-new character, diving into the supernatural and alternate dimensions alongside Doctor Strange, Blade, and Thor. If you're excited for this one, Amazon looks like the smarter buy right now. Will you be picking it up?
