WoW: Forever Beta Adds Heavy Rain to Elwynn Forest

Ever wished Azeroth's weather matched your mood? If you're in the World of Warcraft: Forever beta, you're about to get drenched. Blizzard just announced that heavy rain is coming to certain beta zones, starting with the iconic Elwynn Forest.

The team shared the news on the WoW: Forever subreddit, posting: "Starting soon you will see increased weather effects in certain WoW: Forever Beta Zones!" along with a clip of the downpour in action. If you've been exploring the human starter zone, you know it well—but soon you'll be questing through a proper storm.

Why does this matter? Weather might seem like a small detail, but when you're spending hours grinding mobs and completing quests, a little atmospheric variety goes a long way. Rain, thunder, maybe even snow—it all makes the world feel more alive. And for veterans who played WoW at launch, the idea of killing gnolls in the pouring rain is oddly satisfying.

Players in the beta are already buzzing. "I'm never leaving this place," one fan wrote. Another added, "INJECT IT INTO MY VEINS." A third simply said, "Damn that's cozy as hell." The enthusiasm is real—and it hints at how much the community craves these immersive touches.

For those who missed it, World of Warcraft: Forever is a "Classic Plus" MMO set during the first year of WoW, developed by the Classic team. It was announced at BlizzCon 2026 and launches on November 4. He added, "We've got something really special here."

Blizzard is also staying true to the Classic+ vision by holding back some quality-of-life features from retail, like shared drops and tagging. One developer said that's "one of those things that we simply must hold the line on." So don't expect modern conveniences—just good old-fashioned adventuring, now with more rain.
