Get ready, fighting game fans — TYPE-MOON is stepping back into the ring. Aniplex and French-Bread have officially announced Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina, and it's landing on April 22, 2027.
That date comes courtesy of a report from Gematsu, and the platform list is about as broad as it gets. You'll be able to pick it up on PS5, PS4, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox One, and Steam. No matter where you play, you're covered.
Language support is equally generous. The game will include Simplified and Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, and more, so plenty of players can jump in without a hitch.
So what exactly is Twi-Lumina? It's the newest entry in the Melty Blood series, building directly on Melty Blood: Type Lumina. This isn't just a re-release — the team is refining the entire fighting system and adding fresh playable characters, including Len.
On top of that, there's a brand-new main story. TYPE-MOON's Kinoko Nasu is writing it, with Shiki Tohno at the center of the action. Expect him to cross paths — and blades — with a whole lineup of characters along the way.
For those unfamiliar with the name behind the publishing push, Aniplex is a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment Japan. The company primarily handles planning, production, and sales for anime, and it's a full member of the Association of Japanese Animations. In recent years, though, it's been digging deeper into the gaming space.
With a 2027 release window, there's still a wait ahead, but the combination of a refined fighter, new fighters, and a Nasu-penned story gives Melty Blood fans plenty to look forward to. Which platform are you planning to grab it on — and who's the first character you're maining?
