Did you know you can play one of the best Star Wars games ever made for free right now? Star Wars: Galactic Racer just launched, and while it normally costs $60, Amazon Prime members can stream the single-player campaign at no extra cost through Amazon Luna starting today.
If you're not familiar with Luna, it's Amazon's cloud gaming service that lets you play without a console or a lengthy download. Prime members get access to a rotating selection of games each month, plus a few downloadable PC titles redeemable on stores like Epic Games Store and GOG. Last month, for example, members could claim classic Doom games including the 2016 reboot and Doom Eternal.
"We've always believed Luna players deserve to be in the action from day one, and Star Wars: Galactic Racer makes that a reality for the first time," said Jeff Gattis, Head of Gaming at Amazon, in a blog post. "Luna players can jump into the single-player campaign today without needing to own a console or wait for a lengthy download. It's exactly the kind of experience we want to deliver on Luna, and we think players are going to love it."
So what makes Galactic Racer so special? Set early in the New Republic era, it puts you in the Galactic League, a high-stakes underground racing circuit. But it's not just about speed—the game mixes in roguelike mechanics that make every run feel dynamic and unpredictable. It's developed by Fuse Games, a studio founded by racing veterans from the Burnout and Need for Speed franchises, so you know the driving feels good.
Critics are loving it too. The game currently holds an 88 Metascore on Metacritic. In GameSpot's review, Jordan Ramée wrote: "Galactic Racer is those absolutely perfect 10 minutes expanded into a full game. Every moment feels joyfully fast. Every decision carries the weight of tension. And every run is a rewarding chance to learn, improve, tinker, and adapt, whether it ends in success or failure. I can’t wait to keep playing what’s been my favorite racing game in years."
If you're a Prime member, you can start streaming the single-player campaign on Luna right now. No console, no waiting—just pure Star Wars racing action. Will you be jumping into the Galactic League? Let us know in the comments!
