GTA 6 Launch Trailer: Jason's Army Past, Shower Scene, and PS5 Perks

Did you catch the new GTA 6 launch trailer? Rockstar just dropped a 1:30 cinematic bombshell that gives us our best look yet at Jason and Lucia's chaotic world. And trust us, there's a lot to unpack.

The trailer kicks off with Jason's rough narration: "I got in some trouble in the army. Didn't leave on the best of terms. They don't give loans or anything to people like me." We then see him working at Brian's Marina, buffing a boat, before getting a call from Lucia Caminos. If you've been following the hype, this is likely the call where he picks her up from prison. Flashbacks show Jason wading through water with a military unit and leaping out of a helicopter—suggesting special forces training. Whether these are past or present missions, one thing's clear: this guy knows his way around a gun.

Then things get spicy. We get a steamy shower scene with Lucia, who's wearing an ankle tag. That little detail has fans speculating about early game restrictions—maybe you'll have to progress through the story before unlocking the full map. Of course, that's just speculation for now. But the ankle tag is definitely there.

Speaking of details, remember that sweat system we heard about earlier this week? The trailer seems to show it in action, with a man working out and visibly drenched. Rockstar is really going all-in on immersion.

The action ramps up with Jason and Lucia causing havoc across Vice City. Between explosions, Lucia asks, "Are we gonna be okay?" Jason replies, "We stuck together through everything. Just gotta get through it." Cue the goosebumps.

Rockstar's official blurb sets the stage: "Vice City, USA. Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive."

Oh, and the music? Electronic duo Justice composed the original score. Their track "Flower in a Hurricane," featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, plays during the trailer. Not too shabby.

As per Rockstar's partnership with Sony, the trailer opens with "plays best on PS5" and confirms the footage was "captured on PS5." So if you're on PlayStation, you're in for a treat.

It's been a busy week for GTA 6 news—from the Cyberleek report to the sweat system details and confirmation that GTA 6 is eligible for The Game Awards 2026. But this trailer? It's the main event.

What do you think of Jason's backstory? Will you be picking this up on November 19? Let us know in the comments!
