A Real Cow Is Playing Eve Online Right Now—And It's Epic

Have you ever watched a cow play a space MMO? Well, now you can. Fenris Creations, the studio behind Eve Online (formerly CCP Games), has set up a livestream featuring a real cow named Valva, who is currently piloting a mining ship in the vast universe of New Eden.

This all started after the latest expansion, Cradle of War, was released earlier this summer. Players quickly nicknamed it "CoW," which sparked a hilarious idea at Fenris Creations. They decided to bring an actual cow into the game, and now Valva is on a deep space mining operation, all from the comfort of her pen in Iceland.

How does a cow play Eve Online, you ask? The team fitted her pen with "cow-proof" buttons that trigger in-game actions when she steps on them. So, as Valva wanders around, she's actually controlling her ship. A voiceover host provides cow facts to keep viewers entertained while they watch her navigate the cosmos.

As of now, over 200 players have joined Valva's mining expedition, and more than 4,000 viewers are watching on Twitch. The chat is loving it, with some users even demanding that she be left alone to do her mining in peace. Valva's username, FC CapitalCowPilot, is already becoming legendary.

Fenris Creations has also set up community goals for the stream. If enough viewers participate, new ship skins and updates for the Cradle of War expansion could be unlocked. The stream is scheduled to run for about 4 to 6 hours, but as the team puts it, "she's on the cow's time, not ours."

This isn't just a fun stunt, though. The Cradle of War expansion itself adds some serious content, including time-limited Military Campaigns that let players complete tasks to advance their empire's goals, and a new area called Exordium designed to help new players get started.
