Star Wars Galactic Racer Tips: Survive, Upgrade, Win

Ever jumped into Star Wars Galactic Racer and felt like you were piloting a brick through a meteor shower? You're not alone. The game throws you into ridiculously fast and dangerous races, and if you're used to Mario Kart, the learning curve can feel like a vertical cliff. But don't worry—we've got you covered with tips that'll help you survive the Galactic League and maybe even take down the competition.

First things first: stop trying to win every race. Seriously. In this runs-based game with roguelike mechanics, crashing and wrecking is part of the process. Focus on surviving to the finish line. As you play, you'll earn permanent stat upgrades, Favours, and Racer Styles that make you faster and tougher. So embrace the chaos and keep your speeder in one piece.

When it comes to upgrades, prioritize Cornering and Resilience. Better cornering lets you turn tighter and faster, while resilience reduces malfunctions and helps you resist hazards. You can respec your permanent upgrades at the start of a Tour by spending two Tuning Points, so don't be afraid to experiment. A forgiving speeder is a fast speeder.

Shortcuts are your secret weapon. Races aren't won by pure speed or takedowns—they're won by mastering the circuit's hidden routes. Watch rival racers who go off the main track, and you might find a faster path. You can also turn mid-air to cut corners after ramps. Just be careful: many shortcuts are narrow and packed with hazards like overheating lava flows. Sometimes there are even shortcuts within shortcuts!

Your Ramjet and Afterburners are powerful but tricky. The Ramjet can overheat and explode your speeder, and it needs to cool down after use. Afterburners, on the other hand, can be toggled freely as long as you have fuel. Balance the two to maintain high speeds without turning into a fireball.

Before each race, complete your pre-race checks. These cheat code-like inputs give you benefits like priming your Afterburners for full fuel or your Ramjet for instant use. If you have Autopilot installed, prime it first—it'll automatically prime all your other abilities. Don't stress about Perfect Starts; they're hard to pull off and the boost is small. But some Parts trigger effects with them, so it's worth practicing.

Between races, always visit Hibi's shop in the paddock. Buy Parts, Favours, or at least an Upgrade Pack for 1,500 Credits to boost a stat. Even if nothing looks good, a restock costs 250 Credits. These small upgrades add up by the final races. Also, plan your Tour path carefully—look ahead to see what events and upgrades you'll need. Diverging paths can limit your options later, so choose wisely.
