Ever wondered what it's like to step into the boots of a real-life hero? Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is giving you that chance with its day-one DLC, and it's for a great cause.
Activision just dropped the details on the Call of Duty Endowment Valor Pack, which hits alongside the game on October 23. This time, you'll get to play as Kyle Carpenter, a Medal of Honor recipient who did something incredibly brave back in 2010.
Picture this: Carpenter was in Marjah, Afghanistan, when a grenade landed near his fellow Marine, Nick Eufrazio. Without a second thought, he threw himself on the grenade to save his buddy. The blast left him unconscious for five weeks, stripped his teeth, and cost him an eye. He endured countless other life-threatening injuries, but he survived. In 2014, President Barack Obama awarded him the Medal of Honor.
Carpenter's own words in a promo video sum up his mindset: "No matter how wrecked your world gets, the world keeps spinning." That's some serious resilience.
The best part? All proceeds from this DLC go to the Call of Duty Endowment, Activision's charity that helps veterans find jobs after their service. So you're not just getting cool in-game content—you're making a real difference.
This isn't the first time CoD has done this. Remember the Black Ops 7 pack that featured Chris Cassidy? He was one of the first responders hunting Osama bin Laden after 9/11, and later became a NASA astronaut. Pretty cool lineage, right?
