Ever found yourself spending more time looting corpses than actually fighting monsters in The Witcher 3? The new remaster has a handy feature called Loot Merge that might just save your sanity.
So what exactly is Loot Merge? It's a new option added in the 2026 remaster that collects nearby lootable items from the same type of container and bundles them together in one loot window. That means instead of opening each container separately, you get one list with everything.
But here's the catch: it doesn't work for every container. According to early players, Loot Merge seems to work for corpses but not for cabinets and chests. For example, if you kill a group of wolves, all their drops appear in a single loot window. But two nearby bags will still bring up separate windows.
It might sound a bit inconsistent, but even with that limitation, Loot Merge makes looting much faster and easier. There's no downside to turning it on, so we strongly recommend enabling it.
If you're planning to dive back into the Continent, this little quality-of-life feature is a no-brainer. It streamlines one of the most repetitive parts of the game, letting you focus on the action.
