Forza Horizon 6 Devs Finally Speak Up After Months of Silence

Playground Games has responded to frustrated Forza Horizon 6 players after months of no communication. The studio promises to look into changes and improve how it talks to fans.

Forza Horizon 6 Devs Finally Speak Up After Months of Silence

Have you been shouting into the void about Forza Horizon 6, wondering if Playground Games even hears you? Well, finally, they've said something.

After months of radio silence, the studio posted a message on its social channels: "Hey Horizon Community, We're reading all your comments about Forza Horizon 6, and we realize that we haven't been talking with you as much as we could be. While we continue to deliver regular content and fixes into the game, we want you to know we hear your feedback about our post-launch updates and we're looking into future changes to both in-game content and the ways we communicate with you. Stay tuned!"

That's a start, but it comes after a lot of frustration. The game itself got rave reviews at launch—even a 10/10 from IGN—but the lack of communication has really gotten under players' skin. Content creators like STEVIO2175, AR12Gaming, HokiHoshi, and Ericship 111 have all made videos detailing the community's grievances.

So what's everyone so upset about? For starters, the live service game has had zero communication from the devs. On top of that, some features from previous Forza games are missing. "It just feels like the community engagement between the developers and us is just nonexistent," STEVIO2175 said in his 19-minute video from late August.

Players also feel forced to grind the Horizon Festival playlists to get new cars—many of which are recycled from older games—instead of just playing how they want. And the Forza Monthly show, which used to keep the community in the loop, has been absent. Some wonder if that's a side effect of new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma's big "reset" and the layoffs that followed.

Another big complaint: no in-game voice chat in Horizon 6. That's especially weird since 2023's Forza Motorsport has it. "Voice chat alone could make FH6 Japan ten times better," STEVIO2175 said. "But the thing that bothers me most at the end of the day is that the devs have not responded at all. No communication, no public responses, nothing."

He also worries about replayability. "Until the socialization and community features get added, if they ever do, player interest is going to continue to drop," he said. "And I hope they figure this all out before PS5 hopefully still gets this game." Speaking of which, Microsoft and Playground still haven't announced a PS5 release date, even though they said it'd ship this year. It's October now, so that's looking unlikely.

Maybe it's for the best—if Playground needs to sort out its communication and content roadmap before launching on another platform, taking extra time could help. A second team at Playground is also deep into the Fable reboot, due February 23, 2027 on Xbox, PC, and PS5. Could Fable be pulling resources away from Forza Horizon 6? It's fair to wonder.

What do you think—will Playground actually turn things around, or is this too little, too late?
