Ever wished your phone bill could double as your game subscription? T-Mobile just made that a reality. The carrier has announced a new plan called T-Mix, and it lets you pick Xbox Game Pass as one of the services included with your phone plan.
Starting in November, T-Mix subscribers can choose Game Pass Ultimate or Premium as one of their picks. Microsoft says this marks the first time Xbox Game Pass has ever been available through a wireless plan in the US. That's a pretty big deal for anyone who's been curious about Game Pass but didn't want another separate bill.
The T-Mix plans come in three tiers. The base plan starts at $55 per month for one line and includes one pick—which could be Game Pass. T-Mix More is $75 per month and gives you two picks, while T-Mix Loaded is $95 per month and includes three picks. You can change your picks every three months, so you're not locked into the same services forever.
And Game Pass isn't the only option. You can also choose from Apple TV, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube Premium, Google Gemini, ESPN Unlimited, and others. It's basically a build-your-own bundle situation, and you can head to T-Mobile's website for the full details.
Before you jump in, though, there's something you should know. Game Pass itself might be getting a major shakeup soon. According to reports, Xbox is planning a "major overhaul" that would let players choose features à la carte. Back in April, it was reported that Microsoft was preparing a "pick-your-own" version of Game Pass, so this latest rumor lines up with that.
Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has said that Game Pass was a big bet that didn't pay off, so an overhaul makes sense. She's already made some changes, like removing new Call of Duty titles from the program and lowering the price. Her team is also going to start charging for more cloud-gaming time, and many are saying this will make Game Pass worse and more expensive.
So while bundling Game Pass with your phone plan sounds convenient, the service itself could look very different in the near future. Will you be picking this up, or are you waiting to see what the overhaul brings?
