GTA 6 Is Getting a $400 Vice City Merch Box

Ever dropped $400 on a box of stuff you didn't strictly need? GTA 6 is about to test how deep that fandom really goes.

The Goodtime State: Vice City Collection is a new merch box tied to Grand Theft Auto 6, and it'll set you back $400. For that price, you're getting 11 items in total — so it's less a casual t-shirt buy and more a full-on collector's commitment.

If you're wondering where the theme comes from, it's pulled straight out of the game's world. The collection is inspired by Macca the Gator, an in-game TV show that exists inside the GTA 6 universe. That's a very Rockstar move: build out the fiction, then let you wear it.

So what's actually in the box? Among the 11 pieces, there's a figure, a New Era hat and a pair of sunglasses. That's a solid mix of display piece and wearable gear, which is probably the point — some of it ends up on a shelf, some of it ends up on your head.

Let's put that $400 in perspective. It's a lot for merch, but it's also clearly aimed at the crowd that already owns the posters, the special editions and probably a Vice City neon sign somewhere in their setup. This isn't an impulse add-to-cart situation.

It also tells you something about how GTA 6 is being rolled out. Rather than just marketing the game, Rockstar is fleshing out its internal brands and shows — and then selling that world back to you in physical form. Macca the Gator isn't real, but the hat can be.

For collectors, the question is whether 11 items at $400 feels like value or like a flex tax. For everyone else, it's another sign that GTA 6's launch is going to be an absolute merchandise machine.
