Hell is Us Switch 2 Port and Big Update Delayed to October 27

Were you counting down the days until Hell is Us hit the Nintendo Switch 2? Well, you might want to add a few more marks to your calendar. Rogue Factor has announced that both the Switch 2 version and the game's major update have been delayed from October 8 to October 27.

The reason? According to a message from the Hell is Us team on Twitter, the Switch 2 version is facing "logistical and distribution issues that are out of our control." Because the studio wants all players to have "the same experience at the same time," the major update has been pushed to the same day. So no one gets to play with the new content early while Switch 2 owners wait.

Here's the good news: Rogue Factor says it's "very pleased" with how the Switch 2 port is shaping up. There's no last-minute work or "technical issues" holding things back—just the behind-the-scenes distribution headaches. So when October 27 rolls around, the port should be ready to go.

Hell is Us Switch 2 Port and Big Update Delayed to October 27

If you missed the boat last year, Hell is Us launched on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It's since racked up 1.5 million players across all platforms, no doubt helped by its availability on Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium. The action-adventure title stood out for its old-school exploration—no maps, no waypoints. You had to piece together clues and solve puzzles using in-game documents. That design choice earned plenty of praise, even if other areas like the narrative and combat fell a bit short, especially when it came to enemy variety.

That's exactly what the upcoming update aims to fix. It's adding ten new Hollow Walkers to fight, and they sound like a creepy bunch. One of them even mimics a human wielding a bladed weapon. If you thought the base game's enemies were getting stale, this should shake things up.

So yeah, the wait just got a little longer, but at least it's only a few weeks. And if you haven't tried Hell is Us yet, the delay gives you time to jump in before the new content drops. Stay tuned for more details when the update goes live.

What do you think about the delay? Will you be picking up the Switch 2 version on October 27? Let us know in the comments!
