Ever dreamed of cruising through Vice City with Charli XCX, Pantera, and Loretta Lynn all on your radio? Rockstar just dropped the first details on GTA 6's radio stations, and it's looking like a wild ride.
With GTA 6 just over a month away from launch, the studio has finally started teasing what we can expect from the best part of every Grand Theft Auto game: the radio. Six genre-focused stations have been revealed, covering major artists from across the years. You can preview each one right now in two-minute bursts, giving you a taste of the DJs and the music.
Here's the lineup so far: Cocotea FM for modern Latin music, Back Country Radio for classic outlaw country, Afro Bank FM for a wide array of African music, The Chamber 106.6 for classic metal, Flash FM for modern pop, and Dirty South Classics for old-school rap and hip-hop. And that's not all – the announcement also confirms classic rock and talk radio options, so there's plenty more to come.
But the biggest news? For the first time in the series, GTA 6 will feature in-game podcasts. According to Rockstar, these are "on-demand podcasts for Jason and Lucia to experience beyond Leonida's terrestrial radio." Both radio and podcasts will be available to listen to in vehicles and on foot through newly introduced headphones and earbuds connected to their smartphones. It's a fun nod to how much our listening habits have changed since GTA 5 launched back in 2013.
In-game podcasts aren't a brand-new idea – you can find examples as far back as Metal Gear Solid 4 – but it's notable that they're finally appearing in GTA. Admittedly, it's likely not all that different from the talk radio that's been in the series for years, but it's still a cool addition.
If you're anything like us, the radio stations are the best part of GTA. There's something magical about cruising through the world with a particular song blaring over the car radio, and Rockstar's music curation has always been impeccable. So many memories of San Andreas or GTA 4 are tied to specific moments and songs. We're looking forward to making new ones in GTA 6.
What do you think of the station lineup? Will you be tuning in? Let us know in the comments!
