Amazon Prime Day Restocks Rare Pokémon TCG Sets

Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days sale (Oct 6-7) brings back rare Pokémon TCG items like 30th Anniversary First Partner Collections and Surging Sparks boosters, but prices are high.

Amazon Prime Day Restocks Rare Pokémon TCG Sets

Did you miss out on those elusive Pokémon TCG drops? Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days sale is live right now, and it's brought back some rare sets you might have been hunting for. But before you smash that buy button, let's break down what's actually worth your cash.

The sale runs for just 48 hours, ending October 6-7, so you'll need to act fast. Among the restocked goodies are the 30th Anniversary First Partner Collections, Surging Sparks boosters, and Perfect Order boosters. It's not the biggest restock we've ever seen—previous events like Pokémon Day or Labor Day had more—but there's still some solid stuff here.

Let's talk about the standout: the First Partner Illustration Collection Series 3. This is the final chapter in the 30th anniversary celebration, wrapping up the collection with starter Pokémon from Hoenn (Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip), Kalos (Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie), and Paldea (Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly). Each box includes one Pokémon TCG pack with three of nine illustration rare-style promos, two booster packs from Pitch Black and Chaos Rising, and an exclusive sticker sheet. Amazon has it listed at $34, which matches the TCGplayer median and is right in line with the average market price of $30-$35. If you're grabbing a few, Amazon might be your best bet—especially with free Prime shipping.

Now, the not-so-great news. The 30th Celebration ETB is listed at a whopping $159.99, way up from the $89.99 we saw earlier. That stings if you missed the better deal, but at least Amazon has stock and is still taking invite requests. The catch? Requesting an invite doesn't guarantee you'll get one, even at that price. Amazon introduced this invite system for the product in the US, which is unusual since their Pokémon TCG listings usually stick closer to market prices. With the 30th Anniversary collection now fully out, some items are proving tough to find at reasonable prices.

And then there's Surging Sparks boosters, back in stock at an eye-watering $17.59 per pack. Yikes. TCGplayer has them for under $10, so you're probably better off buying from a third-party reseller. But hey, the option is there if you want it.

So, is any of this worth it? Only you can decide. Market price is often dictated by what people are willing to pay, and unfortunately, that's the reality even with big retailers like Amazon. If you want to snag sealed boosters sold and shipped directly by Amazon, keep an eye on their listings. But don't forget to shop around—sometimes the better deal is elsewhere.

Will you be picking up any of these restocks, or are you holding out for a better price? Let us know in the comments!
