PS Plus Losing 7 Games Soon: Silent Hill 2 & Yakuza Leaving

Did you just see that Silent Hill 2 remake is leaving PS Plus? Yeah, it hurts. PlayStation has confirmed that seven games are exiting the Game Catalog soon, and while there's no exact date yet, you've only got a few weeks left to play them.

The full list of departures includes Silent Hill 2, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Gloomhaven: Mercenaries Edition, Jurassic World Evolution 2, Rogue Lords, Lake, and Death Squared. That's a mix of horror, RPG, strategy, and even a cozy mystery. But the headliner is definitely Silent Hill 2.

Bloober Team's remake launched in 2024 to critical acclaim and is widely considered one of the best survival-horror games of all time. It's not just a visual upgrade—the combat is more dynamic, enemy AI is smarter, and the town of Silent Hill has been expanded with new locations and puzzles. If you haven't played it yet, now's your last chance on PS Plus. And with Silent Hill Townfall launching on September 24 and a remake of the first game in the works, the series is having a major moment.

Then there's Yakuza: Like a Dragon. This one shook up the franchise by swapping beat-'em-up brawling for turn-based RPG combat and introducing a new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga. It first arrived in late 2020 and blends a heartfelt story with plenty of goofy moments. Fair warning: the endgame can be a grind, but it's still worth your time. Since then, fans have gotten Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and several spin-offs, so there's plenty more where that came from.

The other departures are worth a look too. Gloomhaven: Mercenaries Edition brings tactical dungeon-crawling, Jurassic World Evolution 2 lets you build your own dinosaur park, Rogue Lords is a turn-based roguelike, Lake is a relaxing mail-delivery adventure, and Death Squared is a clever co-op puzzler. If any of those have been sitting in your backlog, now's the time to dive in.

Meanwhile, PS Plus is still adding new stuff. Today, Runescape: Dragonwilds and WWE 2K26 join the catalog, and more games like Ball X Pit, Slitterhead, and Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound are coming over the next couple of weeks.
