CHERRY XTRFY K5 PRO TMR RGB V2 Review: Magnetic Keyboard with 0.01mm Rapid Trigger

Ever wondered what a keyboard that reacts faster than you can blink feels like? The CHERRY XTRFY K5 PRO TMR RGB V2 might just be the answer, especially if you're deep into FPS games like CS2 or Valorant.

This 65% magnetic keyboard packs a serious punch. It features the MK II magnetic switches, TMR magnetic sensing, and a mind-blowing 0.01mm Rapid Trigger sensitivity. In plain English: you barely lift your finger and the key resets, giving you lightning-fast counter-strafes. Plus, it boasts an 8000Hz polling rate and 16KHz scan rate, so every input is registered almost instantly.

But it's not just about speed. The typing experience is top-notch thanks to a multi-layer damping structure: Poron foam, IXPE switch pad, PET sound pad, and bottom foam. The result? That coveted 'mahjong' sound that's clean and satisfying, with no hollow noise. The MK II switches have a 30gf initial force, 45gf at 2.0mm, and a total travel of 3.5mm, making them light and comfortable even during marathon gaming sessions.

Visually, the keyboard is a stunner. The semi-transparent frame and side-printed PBT keycaps with a frosted finish let the RGB lighting shine through beautifully. The included CHERRY MagCrate software lets you customize lighting, recalibrate switches after hot-swapping, and fine-tune per-key actuation. Advanced features like SnapKey (which prioritizes the last key pressed for smoother direction changes) and dynamic keystrokes give you a competitive edge.

In real-world testing with CS2 and Valorant, the K5 PRO TMR RGB V2 delivered exceptional performance. The 0.01mm Rapid Trigger made counter-strafing feel effortless, and SnapKey noticeably improved movement fluidity in fast-paced situations. No accidental inputs, just pure precision.

If you're in the market for a 65% magnetic keyboard that combines top-tier responsiveness, a great typing feel, and eye-catching RGB, the CHERRY XTRFY K5 PRO TMR RGB V2 is definitely worth considering. It's a solid contender in the crowded magnetic switch market.
