Ever wondered if you could pet a dog in the middle of a chaotic Grand Theft Auto game? Well, wonder no more. GTA 6 just dropped its first trailer, and it's already showing off some very good boys. Yep, dogs are in the game, and you can interact with them in a few different ways.
During the trailer, we see Jason and Lucia exploring an apartment complex on a mission. They're looking for a package, but they stumble upon a dog in the hallway. Jason leans down, and you get the option to pet the dog. Classic video game move. But here's the twist: there are also options to 'Scold' and 'Study' the pup.
Scolding a dog? Sounds like a monster move, but maybe there's a deeper mechanic at play. Perhaps you can train dogs or correct their behavior? The trailer doesn't show it in action, but it's an intriguing possibility. And the 'Study' option is straight out of Red Dead Redemption 2, where you could observe wild animals. That might mean GTA 6 will let you study all sorts of creatures, not just dogs.
A New York Times report added another layer: you can buy dog treats at shops and give them to dogs. So, you could be the hero who rewards a good pup, or the villain who scolds them for no reason. The choice is yours.
This little detail shows Rockstar's attention to making the world feel alive. Dogs are just one small part, but they add a layer of immersion. Will you be the kind of player who pets every dog you see, or will you experiment with the scold option just to see what happens? Be honest.
So, what do you think? Will you be petting or scolding the dogs in GTA 6? Let us know in the comments!
