Steam Survey: RTX 5070 Tops GPU Charts, 32GB RAM Now Standard

Guess what just became the most popular graphics card on Steam? If you said the RTX 5070, you're spot on. Valve's September 2026 hardware survey is out, and NVIDIA's mid-range Blackwell card has officially taken the crown.

The RTX 5070 now sits at 6.15% of Steam users, which is a massive jump from 3.77% back in August. That's a 1.6x increase in just one month. If you've been thinking about upgrading, you're clearly not alone.

But the 5070 isn't the only new card making waves. The RTX 5060 holds 4.40% of users, and the RTX 5060 Ti follows closely at 4.06%. Add those three together and you get 14.61% of all Steam users running a 50-series card. That's a serious chunk of the player base.

What's really interesting is who got pushed down the list. The RTX 4060 and RTX 3060, both former chart-toppers, now sit at fourth and fifth place respectively. It looks like the 50-series is finally hitting its stride with mainstream gamers.

Memory is another big story here. Despite ongoing RAM supply shortages, 32GB has officially overtaken 16GB as the most common system memory configuration. 32GB now sits at 42.22%, while 16GB dropped to 37.82%. If you're still rocking 16GB, you're now in the minority.

So what does this mean for you? If you're building or upgrading a PC right now, the data suggests 32GB of RAM and a 50-series GPU is where the community is heading. Whether that's worth the investment depends on what you play, but you'll definitely be in good company.

Will you be picking up an RTX 5070, or are you sticking with your current setup? Let us know in the comments.
