Nintendo Switch 2 Gets 32GB Game Cards, Stellar Blade Complete Edition First to Use Them

Nintendo might still love physical games after all. A new, smaller Switch 2 game card size has just been confirmed, and Stellar Blade is the first game to use it.

SHIFT UP Corp. has officially announced that Stellar Blade Complete Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on November 6, 2026, complete with a physical release. And here's the interesting part: that physical version will ship on a 32GB game card.

If you've been following the Switch 2 rumor mill, that number should ring a bell. Word had been going around that smaller-than-64GB cards existed for the console, and now we have official confirmation straight from a real product.

According to the official promotional materials, the Stellar Blade Complete Edition cartridge packs in both the base game and all of its downloadable content. So you're getting the full package on a single card — no extra downloads required to complete the experience.

Up until now, Nintendo had only announced a 64GB capacity for Switch 2 game cards. The arrival of a 32GB option tells us the company has opened up a smaller, and likely cheaper, choice for developers and publishers. For physical releases, that could mean noticeably lower production costs.

This isn't the first time we've heard about Stellar Blade landing on Switch 2, either. The game was already confirmed for the platform with a release date of November 5, 2026. The Complete Edition's physical version follows just one day later, on November 6.

So why does a 32GB card matter? It shows that Switch 2 is staying flexible when it comes to storage media. For third-party developers, having more than one card size means more room to control costs when they decide to put out a physical version. Not every game needs 64GB, and not every publisher wants to pay for it.

As of publication, Nintendo hasn't offered any further official details about Switch 2 card specifications. We'll have to wait and see if more developers jump on the 32GB bandwagon.
