Have you been wrestling with a boat that just won't steer straight in The Witcher 3 Remastered? You're not alone, and CD Projekt Red has heard your cries. Patch 5.01 is out now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and it's packed with fixes for some of the weirdest bugs.
The patch notes are lengthy, but the highlights include a fix for boats moving "uncontrollably" and skills that weren't working as intended. So if you've been struggling to sail the seas of Skellige without crashing into every rock, this one's for you.
But it's not just about boats. CDPR has also rolled out a bunch of UI tweaks and platform-specific improvements. On PC, there are several GPU-related changes, like Dynamic Resolution Scaling and GTAO Quality. Over on consoles, you're getting brand-new settings: Bloom, Light Shafts, and Depth of Field options. That means you can fine-tune the game's look to your liking, whether you're on a high-end rig or a console.
Of course, the Nintendo Switch 2 version isn't getting this patch just yet, but CDPR says they're working on it. In a statement, the studio mentioned they're aiming for "closer parity between all versions of the game," including the same global changes. So Switch 2 owners, hang tight – your update is coming.
It's clear CDPR isn't done tinkering with The Witcher 3 Remastered. Paweł Sasko, associate game director on the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, even asked fans to "please keep us updated about any thoughts you have" on Twitter. So if you spot something off, speak up. The devs are listening.
And hey, it's not like the game needed the help – it's already the top-scoring game of 2026 on Metacritic, beating out even the original 2015 release. But every witcher knows there's always room for improvement.
So, will you be diving back into the Continent to test out these fixes? Or are you waiting for the Switch 2 version? Let us know in the comments!
