8BitDo's Tomb Raider Controllers Are Pure Gold

Ever wanted to raid tombs with a controller that looks like it belongs in a museum? 8BitDo has you covered. To celebrate Tomb Raider's 30th anniversary, the brand is releasing two special edition controllers: the Ultimate 3 and Pro 3, both drenched in gold and dripping with nostalgia.

Let's start with the Ultimate 3. This Xbox controller is all about Lara herself. The left side of its face features a lineup of Laras as dark golden silhouettes, including the polygonal OG, the Survivor version, and the new Legacy of Atlantis Lara. The zinc alloy D-pad is coated in a golden metal colorway, and the whole thing pairs beautifully with a 30th Anniversary charging stand. Under the hood, it's a standard Ultimate 3: TMR sticks, hall-effect triggers, remappable bumpers and back buttons, plus Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless. It'll set you back $119.99 and ships on October 24.

If you're more old-school, the Pro 3 might be your pick. It pays tribute to the Lost Valley, one of the most iconic areas from the original 1996 game. Remember that T-Rex fight? The charging stand here is even more striking, with a stone-texture print that makes it look like a plinth holding a precious artifact. You also get interchangeable ball-top joystick caps in turquoise to match Lara's classic outfit, plus grips that echo the ancient relic design. The Pro 3 itself is $79.99 (compared to the usual $69.99 for other colorways) and also launches October 24.

As a controller, the Pro 3 captures a similar shape to the original PlayStation SCPH-1080, but with modern perks like TMR sticks, back buttons, and magnetic ABXY buttons. Both pads are officially licensed and clearly aimed at fans who grew up with Lara Croft.

Of course, if you're waiting for the new game, Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis doesn't arrive until February 12, 2027. That's a long way off. But with so many classic Lara adventures available now, you'll have plenty to play while you wait for these gorgeous accessories to arrive.
