Ever felt like you're locked out of an MMORPG before you even get a chance to swing your sword? That's the exact problem Netmarble's Raven2 – Zero update is looking to solve.
Raven2 is a blockbuster dark fantasy MMORPG with a global player base spanning 155 countries. Players love crafting their own custom avatar down to the last detail before guiding them through a strife-filled world where you're often forced to fight for your very existence. But with so much fighting going on, it's easy to feel shut out of the adventure before you've even found your footing.
Enter Raven2 – Zero. This server update gives you a fresh start with less pressure to spend money. Thanks to its redesigned progression system and overhauled competitive structure, less-entrenched players can quickly get a foothold just by playing the game and earning valuable rewards. That means you can stay competitive in its apocalyptic world without the fear of getting merc'd because you didn't pay up for an edge.
In Raven2 – Zero, you choose from 10 different classes, each offering a new combat style. Marked with the dreaded Cursed Stigma, your role is to vanquish demons and monsters as you travel across a dying land investigating strange happenings. It's an ideal option for anyone who feels pushed out of Raven2 by the hardcore PvP competition between established players.
So how does Zero lower the barrier? It greatly reduces quest requirements and increases EXP gained from fighting monsters. Accuracy balance has been re-adjusted too, so you can progress through hunting areas with more ease. On top of that, the server excludes Mythic-grade Holy Garments, Familiars, and Awakenings, reducing pressure to spend on progression. Instead, you can earn Holy Garments and Familiars — the highest-graded equipment available on Zero — by participating in events. Everyone has to build themselves up through gameplay, not by immediately buying top gear.
And there's plenty to discover when other players aren't out for your blood. Field loot drop rates are bumped up, letting you enjoy the fundamental farming experience. Field hunting is also how you collect "Farming Crystals," a new currency you can only earn while playing. These crystals can be exchanged for key items from the Shop, so your hard work is directly rewarded. New accuracy balances mean your contributions in large-scale battles actually register instead of being chalked up to miss after miss.
The Raven2 – Zero update welcomes new players, and everyone who joins gets a fresh shot at the apocalyptic world without the usual pay-to-win pressure. Will you be giving Zero a try? What do you think about servers built around skill over spending?
