NoFuture's Heroines' Chord Hits Steam With Chinese Support

Ever wished you could round up all your favorite NoFuture heroines into one big crossover adventure? That's exactly what Heroines' Chord is serving up, and it's officially headed to Steam.

Japanese doujin circle NoFuture's adult-oriented beauty RPG Heroines' Chord (known on DLsite as 女傑・和絃 -Heroines' Chord-) has been announced for a Steam release in Traditional Chinese. The port is being handled by Co-FUN GAMES and Shiravune, with the announcement landing today.

Here's the catch you'll want to know about: the Steam version launches as an all-ages release. If you're after the adult content, you'll need to grab the DLC from patch.moe to unlock it. So the base game goes up clean, and the spicier stuff lives separately.

Story-wise, the game pulls together multiple characters from across NoFuture's catalog for a showdown against dark forces. The magical girls have been making a name for themselves by standing up to the evil Ark and the Annihilator, which naturally paints a target on their backs. Some organizations start seeing them as a problem, and a mercenary "counter-force" unit formed to fight the heroines begins causing destruction in the city.

To take down the alliance of evil organizations and corporations, the heroines team up to fight against the secret organization Xaldak and the demon-possessed corporation Grod, among others. Classic crossover setup: everyone's here, and the stakes are big.

Gameplay follows a traditional JRPG dungeon-crawling formula, with grid-based maze exploration. Combat throws status effects at your heroines, including incapacitation, sleep, and paralysis. If you don't clear those debuffs in time, the girls get captured by enemies. Kidnapped characters show up in special spots within the dungeon, and you'll need to rescue them within a set number of turns, otherwise the enemies keep "training" them. Defeat in battle also triggers the expected defeat H-scenes.

The Steam store page for Heroines' Chord is already live, supporting Traditional Chinese interface and subtitles. If this sounds like your kind of crossover, you can add it to your wishlist now.

Will you be picking this one up, or waiting to see how the patch situation shakes out?
