StarCraft Meets D&D? Blizzard and Wizards Tease Epic Crossover

Ever wondered what it'd be like to drop a Zerg rush into your Dungeons & Dragons campaign? Well, you might not have to wonder much longer. At Gen Con 2026, the higher-ups at Wizards of the Coast and Blizzard dropped some tantalizing hints that a StarCraft crossover could be on the horizon.

During a chat with GameSpot, Dan Ayoub, the head of Dungeons & Dragons, made his feelings crystal clear. "I will say this, since I am sitting here with [World of Warcraft VP] Holly Longdale, who is super persuasive and has cool stuff: I think StarCraft would be badass," he said. Ayoub even confessed his love for the classic RTS, admitting, "As I said earlier today, I quite literally almost flunked out of university because of StarCraft. That one gives me the feels."

Holly Longdale, the VP of World of Warcraft, played along with a mischievous grin. "Hmmm. I think we should talk. I know a guy," she replied. Ayoub laughed and added, "I think I know where to find you." The conspiratorial smiles and coy responses have fans buzzing, but Blizzard isn't giving up any concrete details just yet.

So, is a StarCraft D&D book or adventure actually in the works? Right now, it's all just playful teasing, but the fact that they're even discussing it publicly is enough to get our imaginations running wild. Imagine rolling a dice to see if your party can hold off a Protoss zealot or navigating a Terran bunker with a beholder lurking nearby. The possibilities are endless.

This isn't the first time D&D has crossed over with other franchises, and it certainly won't be the last. With the World of Warcraft crossover already on the calendar, it seems like Blizzard and Wizards of the Coast are building a strong partnership.
