Shure MV6 Gen 2 Launches in All-White, Same $169 Price

Ever wished your gaming mic matched your all-white setup without looking like a half-finished paint job? Shure feels your pain. The audio giant is finally launching a proper all-white version of its MV6 USB gaming microphone, and it's called the MV6 Gen 2.

The original MV6 hit shelves in 2024 as a solid entry-level option for creators and gamers. Now, Shure is upgrading it while keeping the price exactly the same: $169 / £159. That's a rare win in a world where "new and improved" usually means "new and more expensive."

So what's new? The Gen 2 brings an adjustable Auto Level mode and a real-time Denoiser that's more versatile on the fly. If you've ever had your mic clip or sound muffled when you yell at your squad, the improved Auto Level should fix that—it reacts faster to sudden volume changes. And the adjustable Denoiser lets you decide how much room noise (loud PC fans, anyone?) your friends or stream audience hear.

There are also new 5-band EQ and smart audio presets, giving you more control over your mic's tone without needing an external mixer. For a plug-and-play USB mic, that's a lot of extra value.

But let's talk about the look. The white version of the MV7+ exists, but its black wind guard kind of ruins the aesthetic. Shure solved that with the MV6 Gen 2 by using a grey "flocked foam" pop filter that actually fits a white gaming room. You get a white body, matching stand, and cable—no mismatched black accessories.

It's not just about color, though. Shure's classic black design dates back to 1973, so seeing the brand properly embrace white is a big deal for anyone building a clean setup. The MV6 Gen 2 isn't on Amazon yet, but it'll likely replace the original—which means the old model might become a discount-friendly alternative if you don't need the new features.
