Control Resonant: New Growth Quest Walkthrough & Underhill Choice

Ever wondered what happens when a missing FBC scientist turns out to be conducting unauthorized experiments? In Control Resonant, the New Growth quest puts you right in the middle of that ethical dilemma. You'll need to track down Doctor Underhill, help her with her research, and then make a tough call about her fate. But does your choice actually change anything? Let's break it down.

First, you'll get the quest from Zoe in the Watchtower after finishing the main story and speaking to her again. She'll mention Underhill, an FBC scientist who was investigating the Mold before she vanished. Your first step is to ask about Underhill at the FBC Base in The Park. The guard, Busken, will point you to a nearby rooftop. Head there and you'll find a desk with a Level 6 Clearance Keycard and a Resignation Letter document—both are essential.

Next, go to the Oldest House and specifically Central Executive, the room with the Fast Travel Door. There, you'll find a room you can open with Underhill's Apartment Key, along with some notes inside. After that, clear out the Mold outside Underhill's apartment building in The Park and head inside to meet her. She'll ask for your help with her experiments by harvesting from test subjects.

Your next task is to collect the Test Equipment from the laboratory inside the sewers. Then, track down the Test Subjects by triggering the white Mold and following it as it crawls away. Sometimes it splits into two directions—you'll need to follow all paths to find all three Test Subjects. Once you locate them, simply kill them to complete the challenge. All their locations are marked on the map.

After dealing with the test subjects, return to Underhill in her apartment. You'll learn she's working without FBC oversight, and the FBC is worried she'll make things worse, while she thinks they're too risk-averse. Now comes the big choice: as Dylan, you can report her to the FBC, give her a chance to escape, or let her escape but keep the samples so she can't continue her experiments.

So, what's the best choice? Well, there are no long-term consequences to any of these options. Later, you'll have a call with Zoe where you explain your decision and she'll share her opinion, but the mission rewards are identical no matter what: the Brass Dusters artifact (Combat abilities deal +50% damage but no Falter effects) and an increase to the Zone Level of The Park region. So pick whichever feels right to you.
