Did you forget to preorder the Xbox X25 controller and now you're scrambling? Good news: you're not alone, and there's still hope. The 25th Anniversary translucent green gamepad lands tomorrow, October 20, and unlike most hyped accessories, it's still in stock across both the US and UK. After selling out fast when preorders opened in late August, stock vanished for weeks. But a fresh wave hit shelves recently, and now you can actually get one without paying scalper prices.
The catch? Getting it delivered on launch day is trickier. We've scoured the retailers with live stock to find the ones that'll get it to your door tomorrow. In the US, Walmart and Best Buy are your best bets. Walmart has it for $79 with free shipping and release day delivery, sold directly by Walmart (no third-party marketplace nonsense). Best Buy also has it at $79.99 with free shipping and launch day arrival at the time of writing. GameStop has stock too, but shipping takes 2-3 business days. Xbox's own store has it for $79.99, but delivery won't happen until Thursday, October 22. Amazon US is out of stock entirely.
In the UK, Amazon is the top pick: £74.99 with free release day delivery tomorrow. EE is a close second, also £74.99 with free delivery expected October 20. Currys has it for £74.99, but you'll pay £5.99 for release day shipping (order by 9pm), and in-store collection mostly won't be ready until October 21. Argos availability depends on your postcode, though some areas still qualify for release day delivery. Very offers it at £74.99, but free standard shipping takes 2-4 days; next day costs £5.99 and currently lands October 21.
If you missed the reveal over the summer, the Xbox X25 controller is a throwback to the translucent tech days, with full-color face buttons and a 25th anniversary stamp on the right grip. Functionally, it's identical to the standard Series X controller—no pro features, just a sweet aesthetic upgrade for longtime fans.
What about the limited edition Xbox X25 console? That's a different story. The Series X model is a fully numbered release, far scarcer than the controller, and it won't launch until November 13, 2026. At $900, it's pricier and harder to find. But once preorder payments start processing, some extra units often pop up as early birds cancel. You'll need to be lightning fast if you want one.
For now, focus on the controller. If you want it tomorrow, order soon—stock and shipping windows are tightening. Will you be picking up the Xbox X25 controller, or are you holding out for that elusive console?
