Ever dreamed of checking into a hotel made of blocks? Well, Minecraft fans, that dream is about to become a reality. At today's Minecraft LIVE event, Mojang Studios and Merlin Entertainments dropped two massive announcements: the world's first official Minecraft hotel, and the name of the first-ever Minecraft rollercoaster.
The hotel is called Minecraft World Hotel, and the rollercoaster is Escape the Nether. Both are confirmed for the Minecraft experience at Chessington World of Adventures Resort. According to the announcement, they're set to open their doors at some point next year. Yes, you read that right—2027 is the year your Minecraft vacation dreams come true.
Concept art already released for Minecraft World gives us a sneak peek at what's in store: wooden houses, Creepers, TNT blocks, and even a Nether dining area. It sounds like the park will be packed with interactive adventures, block-built playscapes, and themed retail. Basically, it's a Minecraft fan's paradise brought to life.
The Escape the Nether rollercoaster is particularly intriguing. We don't know exactly what the ride will entail yet, but the name suggests you'll be dodging lava and maybe even facing a few Ghasts. If the concept art is anything to go by, it's going to be a wild trip through the Nether.
Minecraft World at Chessington is shaping up to be a major destination for fans. With the hotel and rollercoaster now officially named, it feels like the experience is really coming together. And with an opening window of next year, we won't have to wait too long to see it all in person.
