Fourth Wing Board Games: 4 You Can Buy Right Now

Ever dreamed of riding a dragon into battle? Well, you can't do that (yet), but you can play Fourth Wing board games. Rebecca Yarros' Empyrean series has exploded in popularity, and while a TV show is in the works, the tabletop world is already giving fans something to sink their claws into.

There are now four Fourth Wing board games available, and probably more on the way. The romantasy tabletop trend is real, and it all started with Priorities Fourth Wing Edition last year. Since then, we've gotten an original strategy game and two branded Monopoly games. Interestingly, Sarah J. Maas' ACOTAR series is following a similar tabletop path at the same time.

Let's break down what's out there. First up, Fourth Wing: Rise of the Wingleader is the only original board game so far. Created by Goliath Games, it's a strategy game that comes with custom artwork cards, dragon pieces, and a round game board. You also get a metal bookmark, which is a nice bonus for readers.

Next, Priorities Fourth Wing Edition. This is a party game where you rank your "priorities" on certain topics. The Fourth Wing version is a re-skin of the original, so it's easy to pick up. You pull five cards featuring things from the books and rank them from best to worst. It's cooperative, so everyone's in it together.

Then there's Monopoly Deal: Fourth Wing. It follows the standard Monopoly Deal rules but with an Empyrean glow-up. The goal is to be the first to collect three complete property sets of different colors. Each player also gets a Signet card that grants a unique special ability.

Finally, Fourth Wing Monopoly. This plays like regular Monopoly but with Easter eggs from the books. Instead of classic tokens, you get seven different colored metal dragon pieces representing the dragons in the series. That includes Violet Sorrengail's Tairn (Black) and Andarna (Golden Feathertail), plus Xaden's Blue Daggertail Sgaeyl. The usual properties are replaced with Outposts and Strongholds, which let you claim notable locations like the Parapet, the Gauntlet, and Aretia.

So whether you're a strategy fan, a party game lover, or a Monopoly diehard, there's a Fourth Wing game for you. And with the series still going strong, expect more adaptations down the line.
