Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially swung out of Chinese theaters, and the numbers are nothing short of spectacular.
The Marvel and Sony co-production ended its mainland run on September 28, having opened back on July 29. That's roughly two months on the big screen, and it walked away with a hefty 1.586 billion yuan (about $220 million) and 39.868 million admissions, according to the source. For now, that puts it at the top of the 2026 imported film box office chart in China.
It's been a monster summer for the wall-crawler. As a new entry in the Spider-Man franchise, the film had hype going in, and it clearly delivered. Between the character's massive fanbase and the broader pull of the Marvel superhero IP, audiences turned out in droves. Nearly 40 million of you showed up to see Peter Parker's latest chapter on the big screen, which is no small feat.
And honestly, superhero movies still have a rock-solid audience in China. Even with more viewing options than ever, the genre keeps pulling people into theaters. This one proved that point in a big way.
But China was just one piece of the puzzle. Brand New Day rolled out across multiple global markets starting in late July, and its worldwide cume has now hit $2.496 billion. Yeah, you read that right. That kind of commercial staying power is rare, and it shows the Spider-Man brand isn't slowing down anytime soon.
With the China run now closed, the film's domestic final tally is basically locked in. For Spider-Man fans, this one will go down as one of the standout imported blockbusters of the 2026 summer season.
