Still waiting on a release date for Star Wars: The Old Republic's next big update? You're not alone.
Masters of the Force was announced back in August, and so far Broadsword hasn't pinned down when it'll actually land. That's the headline you need before you get excited about anything else.
That said, the studio did take some time last week to talk up the update's features. If you've been following SWTOR for a while, you know that kind of chatter usually means things are starting to spool up behind the scenes.
Broadsword also touched on the DirectX 12 work tied to the game. It's the kind of technical groundwork that doesn't always make for flashy headlines, but it matters for how the game runs on your machine down the line.
So where does that leave players? Basically in the same spot as before: features are being talked up, the tech side is being worked on, and the calendar is still empty on the Masters of the Force front. No date, no window, nothing concrete to circle yet.
For a game that's been running as long as SWTOR has, that's not necessarily a red flag. Updates of this size take time, and Broadsword clearly wants the pieces in place before committing to a date. The studio's willingness to talk up the update suggests momentum rather than a stall.
Still, "we're working on it" only goes so far when you're the one waiting to log in. Until Broadsword names a date, the smart move is to keep your expectations loose and your subscription decisions based on what's live right now, not what's coming.
What do you think, are you holding out for Masters of the Force, or has the wait cooled your interest? Let us know in the comments.
