Wardogs boss Joe Brammer admits the game has a balancing issue but says it's 'always best guess' and won't be fixed by season 2. He points to community servers as the real failure.

Wardogs Boss: Balance Won't Be Perfect By Season 2

Ever jumped into a match and felt like you were fighting level 4 armored chadded up Juggernauts? You're not alone. Wardogs has been out for a few weeks, selling three million copies, and players are already deep in the weeds of its balance. According to boss Joe Brammer, that's just how it goes.

In a recent post, Brammer responded to a fan who said the early game was more fun before everyone became a walking tank. The fan was looking forward to the incoming progress wipe, and Brammer had a cheeky reply: "Almost as if the devs knew this and kept the season short while we balance it." He added that the decision was met with negativity, but maybe there's a bigger plan.

But don't expect perfection anytime soon. Brammer straight-up said, "We won't even get it right season 2." He explained that balancing is "always best guess and evolves with time." So if you're hoping for a perfectly tuned meta next season, you might want to temper those expectations.

So what does Brammer consider the real failure? Not the balancing. He said, "The big failure was community servers and us not hosting official infantry and level cap servers." That's a pretty candid admission. It sounds like the team knows they dropped the ball on giving players the right server options, and that's something they're owning up to.

Still, the team isn't giving up. Brammer promised, "It's an evolving situation, we're learning, adapting, improving, nerfing, buffing.. but all with the long term plan in mind." So expect plenty of tweaks and changes as the game grows. The devs are clearly in it for the long haul.

For now, Wardogs players will have to ride out the growing pains. With three million copies sold, there's a huge community invested in the game's future. And if you're one of them, you know the drill: metas shift, patches drop, and the only constant is change.

What do you think about Brammer's comments? Are you willing to stick it out through season 2 and beyond? Let us know in the comments.
