What if stopping to smell the roses—or rather, soak in a hot spring—could make your party permanently stronger in Final Fantasy 7 Revelation? That's exactly what Square Enix just revealed.
New footage from the upcoming remake trilogy finale shows a hot springs feature where Cloud, Barret, Tifa, and the rest of the crew can take a break from chasing Sephiroth. When you find one of these hidden spots on the world map, your whole party gets a permanent increase to their max HP. Not a temporary buff—a forever boost. And that's not all: the bathing suit outfits worn during these scenes can be unlocked as skins for your characters.
The feature was first unveiled during a stage presentation at SDCC Málaga, and Square Enix later shared gameplay clips on social media. The Japanese FF7 Remake account posted about it on October 5, 2026, calling it a journey through famous hot springs where you can enjoy special conversations with your companions that you won't hear anywhere else.
From the clips shown, we can see skins for Cloud, Barret, and Cid. Red XIII also gets to relax in the hot springs, but since he's usually not wearing clothes anyway, any skin he gets probably won't change much. Then there's Vincent Valentine, the newly playable party member, who apparently prefers to bathe in the same slick outfit he fights monsters in. Because he's just that cool, I guess.
Director Naoki Hamaguchi shared more details in a follow-up post on X/Twitter. "We're sharing a preview of some of the hot spring events revealed during our stage presentation at SDCC Málaga," he said. "Each hot spring offers a different glimpse into the characters' everyday lives, and the outfits featured in these events can also be unlocked as skins. Explore the world, discover hot springs, and enjoy these special moments with your companions!"
It's classic Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy energy—mixing serious world-saving stakes with goofy, memorable downtime. In Rebirth, that meant a beach day. In Revelation, it's hot springs, rubber Chocobo balancing, and bonding moments. The permanent HP boost gives you a gameplay reason to seek them out, while the skins and unique conversations reward you with fun cosmetics and character interactions.
Revelation is still months away, but Square Enix has been steadily dropping details. Hamaguchi recently told IGN that players will have an option to automatically level up characters if they want to skip the grind, and he's said the story could easily take over 100 hours even if the Platinum Trophy isn't too tough. The game launches April 8, 2027, for PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
So, will you be hunting down every hot spring for that permanent HP boost and those bathing suit skins? Or are you more curious about what Vincent wears in the bath? Let us know in the comments!
