Witcher 3 Remastered File Sizes Revealed: Switch 2 Version Is Biggest

CD Projekt Red is gearing up for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, and now we know exactly how much hard drive space you'll need to clear.

The studio's community director, Marcin Momot, took to social media to reveal the download sizes for every platform ahead of this weekend's update rollout. If you're planning to jump back into Geralt's boots, it's time to start deleting some old games.

Here's the breakdown: on PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox, the remaster clocks in at roughly 45GB across the board. One small note for PC players, though. The Steam version's size will fluctuate depending on which language packs you've got installed, so your mileage may vary slightly.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version is a different beast entirely. Momot confirmed it's being treated as a standalone product, and it'll take up about 50GB of space. That makes it the biggest of the bunch, which is a bit of a surprise given the Switch 2's more modest storage compared to modern PCs and consoles.

Momot explained that the reason for sharing these numbers now is simple: he wants players to be ready. With the update landing this weekend, there's no better time to start clearing out that backlog you've been ignoring. Nobody wants to be stuck waiting for a download while everyone else is already hunting monsters.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is described as the latest version of CDPR's beloved RPG, rooted in Slavic mythology and once again following the story of Geralt the witcher. It's set to launch on September 29, 2026.
