Witcher 3 Remastered Smashes Steam Player Record

Did you ever think The Witcher 3 could get even bigger? Well, it just did. The Witcher 3 Remastered has smashed its own Steam concurrent player record, proving that Geralt's adventures are still as captivating as ever.

According to Steam charts, the game peaked at 120,975 concurrent players, beating the previous record of 103,329 set back in January 2020 when the Netflix series launched. That's a massive jump, and it shows no signs of slowing down.

What makes this feat even more impressive is the timing. The gaming calendar is absolutely packed right now, with heavy hitters like Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Control Resonant, Marvel's Wolverine, and Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave all launching within weeks of each other. Many of these games are trying to avoid the looming shadow of GTA 6's November release. Yet The Witcher 3 still managed to cut through the noise.

Of course, the Remastered Edition itself is a big draw. It brings numerous technical and graphical improvements to the 2015 original, and it's a free upgrade for anyone who already owns the game. With lifetime sales of 65 million units globally (as of May 2026) and frequent discounts, it's no wonder so many existing owners are diving back in to see the changes.

And this is just on Steam. The game is also available on GOG, Epic Games Store, PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S, so the total number of players is likely much higher. Clearly, there are still plenty of people happy to toss a coin to their Witcher.
