Remember when Aliens: Fireteam Elite was all the rage? Well, the sequel has finally landed, but it's not getting the warmest welcome. Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is out today on Steam, Xbox, PS5, and Epic Games Store, but it's facing some tough reviews right out of the gate.
This game has had a wild ride to release. Cold Iron Studios went through some serious behind-the-scenes drama, including delays and even a studio buyout by Daybreak Games along the way. But now it's finally here, and you can grab it for $50.
So, what's the deal with the reviews? Without diving into specifics, it's clear that critics aren't exactly singing its praises. The game seems to have some issues that are holding it back from being the co-op shooter fans were hoping for.
If you're a fan of the first game, you're probably wondering if this one is worth your time and money. The core gameplay is still there, but it sounds like there are some rough edges that might make you want to wait for a patch or two.
Given the turbulent development, it's not entirely surprising that the final product has some kinks. But it's still a bummer for those who were eagerly waiting to dive back into the xenomorph-infested corridors.
Will you be picking this up, or are you waiting to see if the reviews improve? Let us know in the comments!
