Get ready, because Nintendo might not be done with showcases just yet. According to a new rumor circulating online, we could be getting a Partner Direct this October — and third-party studios are apparently chomping at the bit.
The chatter comes from overseas gaming blogger Hugo Gaming, who pulled together hints from multiple industry sources. His conclusion? Nintendo may be planning a Nintendo Direct Partner Direct — that's the third-party-focused version of the show — for sometime in October.
One of the clues comes from leaker Attack The Backlog, who previously dropped some suggestive hints. Another well-known Nintendo insider, Nash Weedle, also weighed in, pointing out that third-party developers keep announcing new Switch 2 games — and we haven't even hit October yet.
That timing matters. We've already had a dedicated Zelda Direct and a regular big Nintendo Direct, so the idea is that Nintendo still has a hefty pile of third-party and indie content waiting in the wings. A Partner Direct or an Indie World in October would be the perfect place to show it off.
Of course, we have to say it: none of this has been confirmed by Nintendo. These are just rumors from people who claim to have sources, so take it all with a grain of salt. Don't go clearing your calendar just yet.
Still, it's an exciting thought. With Switch 2 on the horizon, third parties are clearly eager to get their games in front of players. If a Partner Direct does happen, expect a wave of announcements — and maybe a few surprises.
