Love and Deepspace Blade Runner Crossover Sparks Valko Fan Theories

The new Love and Deepspace x Blade Runner 2049 crossover has fans drawing parallels to canceled character Valko, sparking hope for his return.

Love and Deepspace Blade Runner Crossover Sparks Valko Fan Theories

Did you ever think you'd see a Blade Runner 2049 crossover in an otome game? Well, Love and Deepspace just made it happen, and fans are already connecting the dots to a certain canceled character. The event runs from today until November 5 and comes with free in-game rewards inspired by the film. It's likely tied to the upcoming Blade Runner 2099 series, which hits Amazon Prime on November 25.

But here's where things get interesting. In Blade Runner 2049, Ryan Gosling's character K has a romantic relationship with an AI companion named Joi, voiced by Ana de Armas. K loses Joi when the emanator device that lets her travel with him is destroyed. Sound familiar? Love and Deepspace players immediately noticed the parallel to Valko, the promised sixth love interest who was canceled by developer Infold just a week after his reveal following controversy.

One fan on X put it perfectly: "ironically, the bladerunner collab makes more sense like this, we lost valko just like the protagonist lost his virtual girlfriend joi, destroyed by the very same big corpo that created her, only for him to bump into that ad with another joi, naked and suggestive but not HIS joi." Ouch. That one hits hard.

Other fans pointed out that a Blade Runner 2049 crossover would have been the perfect vehicle for Valko, since he was described as a tech CEO and hacker. A Reddit user noted the missed opportunity, and honestly, they have a point. The crossover feels tailor-made for a character like Valko, which makes his absence sting even more.

Despite the cancellation, the Love and Deepspace community hasn't given up hope. Fans have been showing their support for Valko in incredible ways: boycotts, petitions, and charitable donations in his name. Players have sent money to wolf sanctuaries, sponsored forests, paid for billboards featuring him, and even set up memorials. That's some serious dedication. Infold has made no official comment about Valko since the initial cancellation.

So, what do you think? Will Valko ever return, or is this crossover just a painful reminder of what could have been? Let us know in the comments!
