Ever wondered what it would be like to run a weed farm with Jay and Silent Bob? Well, wonder no more, because Nitrate Games just dropped the first trailer and details for Jay and Silent Bob's Joint Venture at New York Comic Con on Thursday. And yes, it's exactly as hilarious and raunchy as you'd expect.
The game is a fresh take on the cozy farming genre, but with a very Jay and Silent Bob twist. Your goal? Build the best weed farm in town. You'll cultivate, expand, and interact with familiar faces from Kevin Smith's movies, all while experiencing an original story written by Ernie Altbacker, the mind behind animated films like Batman: Hush and Justice League Dark.
Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes have been involved from the start, and Smith had this to say: "Since Jay and Silent Bob are the stars of this hilarious growing game, I cannot wait to play with myself! Many thanks to Nitrate Games for taking my little animals to this crossing and making them Stars Dew a Valley!" Classic Smith humor, right?
But this isn't just a spin-off; it's actually a continuation of the View Askewniverse. According to Nitrate Games co-founder Montana Sommese, "The central narrative picks up where the films left off, making the game a kind of sequel. Players can befriend and engage with their favorite characters from Kevin Smith's movies like never before. As we update the game over time, we're excited to be able to expand Kevin's story universe with narrative updates that will continue building from his cinematic universe."
And which familiar faces can you expect? The NYCC panel revealed a huge roster: Dante, Randal, and Veronica from Clerks; Brodie and T.S. Quint from Mallrats; Holden, Banky, Hooper, and Alyssa from Chasing Amy; Azrael and Serendipity from Dogma; Becky and Elias from Clerks II; and even Mooby. That's a lot of nostalgia packed into one game.
Jay and Silent Bob's Joint Venture is currently heading toward its play testing phase, with an expected release in late Spring 2027 on Steam/PC. A console release is also slated for 2027. Fans can learn more and sign up to playtest and wishlist the game.
