Ever show up to a gig only to realize you're not quite what they expected? That's exactly what happened to Charlie Cox when he signed on for a mysterious new Sega game.

At New York Comic-Con 2026, the Daredevil: Born Again star revealed to IGN that he'd just wrapped recording on a Sega-published title that doesn't even have a name yet. But here's the kicker: when he walked in on day one, the crew was visibly disappointed to discover he's English, not American.

"I showed up for the first day, and I was like, 'Hi guys, nice to meet you! How are you?' And all of them went, 'Oh, he's English,'" Cox recalled. "They'd hoped, they'd wanted him to be American. But now I've got to do 40 hours of lines I've not prepared in an accent."

Yeah, that's a lot of lines. Forty hours of dialogue is no joke, and it suggests Cox is lending his voice to something narrative-heavy. Could it be a new Persona or Like a Dragon? Or maybe an entirely fresh Sega project? Cox isn't saying, and honestly, he might not even be allowed to.

This isn't Cox's first trip into gaming. You might remember him as Gustav in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which launched last year to critical acclaim. He was even nominated for Best Performance at The Game Awards, though he humbly pointed out that the motion-capture for Gustav was actually done by Maxence Cazorla. Cox said he was pleasantly surprised by how popular the game became, and he's looking forward to playing it himself once he grabs a console.

So what's next for the actor? Well, his Daredevil co-star Deborah Ann Woll will be showing up early next year in God of War Laufey on PS5. As for Cox, we'll just have to wait and see which Sega title he's been secretly grinding away on.

What do you think the mystery Sega game could be? Will you be picking it up when it finally gets a name?
