Star Wars: Galactic Racer: Best Upgrades for Every Vehicle

Get the most out of each vehicle in Star Wars: Galactic Racer with our recommended upgrade paths for the Landspeeder, Speeder Bike, and Skim Speeder.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer: Best Upgrades for Every Vehicle

Ever find yourself in a race, watching your opponents zoom past while you're stuck with a stock vehicle? In Star Wars: Galactic Racer, the new racing game from Fuse Games, upgrading smartly is the key to staying ahead. The game gives you three distinct vehicles, each with its own strengths and weaknesses, and you'll need to understand which stats matter most to tackle the tougher challenges later on. There are temporary and permanent upgrades, and during the single-player campaign, you'll get a random set of three to choose from. Some multiplayer modes also offer random temporary upgrades, but permanent ones are exclusive to the campaign. Upgrades cost tuning points—Galactic Racer's version of skill points—and the cost increases with each upgrade. You can respec your points, so you won't get stuck with a bad build, but here's what we recommend focusing on for each vehicle.

First up, the Landspeeder. It's your standard, well-balanced ride with easy handling and high defense against collisions—whether you're scraping walls or getting attacked by rivals. Since it's naturally balanced, we suggest upgrades that let you get a little more creative during races. Start with the Afterburner, which affects acceleration, deceleration, and boost power. It lets you boost more often and reach a higher top speed—pretty obvious why that's useful. We also recommend the Ramjet for the same reason: higher top speeds. Lastly, upgrading the Battery is a good idea, as it determines how often you can activate abilities. The Landspeeder's balanced stats make it great for a wide variety of abilities.

Next, the Speeder Bike. It's the smallest vehicle but boasts the fastest acceleration and a special Kinetic Burst that gives you an extra boost when exiting a drift. Lean into that and build around it. Upgrading Kinetic Burst improves both the speed you maintain during a drift and your boost when finishing it. But to handle that increased speed, you'll also need to upgrade Cornering. It gives you better handling around tight turns, letting you harness your drift speed without slamming into a wall. The Speeder Bike is quick but fragile, making it a common target. To combat that, upgrade Resilience—basically its defense. It'll never be a tank, but a bit more sturdiness helps with its main weakness.

Finally, the Skim Speeder. It's the widest of the bunch, and we recommend using that to your advantage. Its sturdier body makes it the best option for going on the offensive and attacking opponents. Upgrading Ramjet turns your vehicle into a missile that can clip other racers without endangering your pilot. Since you'll be taking a lot of contact with this playstyle, you should also upgrade Resilience. The main weakness of the Skim Speeder is also its width: it's harder to handle, especially around turns. To address that, we recommend upgrading Cornering. Basically, with the Skim Speeder and Speeder Bike, you should upgrade both Cornering and Resilience, but for opposite reasons because their strengths are opposites.

So there you have it—three vehicles, three upgrade paths. Whether you prefer the balanced Landspeeder, the agile Speeder Bike, or the aggressive Skim Speeder, these tips should help you get the most out of your ride. What do you think? Will you be trying these builds, or do you have your own favorite upgrades? Let us know in the comments!
