PUBG Mobile's Brainrot Royale just got a spooky pumpkin-themed update with Ghost Ships, Pirate Coins, and new ways to play.

PUBG Mobile Brainrot Royale Gets Pumpkin Update

It's October, and you know what that means: spooky season is in full swing. PUBG Mobile is celebrating with a brand new pumpkin-themed update for Brainrot Royale, now live in Version 4.6. This update brings fresh event gameplay, limited-time rewards, more social interaction, and stronger collection progression. Fan-favorite characters like Boneka Ambalabu, Brr Brr Patapim, and Ballerina Cappuccina are back too.

The headline addition is the Ghost Ship, a new timed event that alternates with the Boss Room. When it kicks off, a massive ship emerges from the mist and sails to the center of the level. It then locks onto Brainrots traveling along the conveyor belt and fires tracking Ghost Bullets. If a bullet hits, the Brainrot mutates into a Pumpkin Brainrot, a special Version 4.6-limited tier. You can also snag Pumpkin Brainrots by smashing Pumpkin Eggs in the Boss Room, then take them back to your base—or steal them from someone else. Your call.

During the Ghost Ship event, special updrafts let you fly up onto the ship's deck. There, you'll find the Pirate Captain's Shop, stocked with limited items and rewards. To get that pirate plunder, you'll need Pirate Coins, a new event currency separate from regular coins. You can earn Pirate Coins by stealing another player's Brainrot, smashing eggs in the Boss Room, or purchasing and shooting Brainrots. Higher-level and rarer Brainrots and eggs drop more Pirate Coins, so hunting down the biggest rewards pays off.

Ever wanted to become a Brainrot yourself? With Pirate Coins, you can buy the Brainrot Wand, which lets you disguise yourself as the new pumpkin-themed Brainrot. There's also a Magic Broom that lets you fly freely around the level and even carry another player. The broom also has a dash attack to knock down thieves, giving you a chance to recover stolen Brainrots. "With Version 4.6, we wanted to build on the fun and unpredictability of Brainrot Royale while giving players a new culture-inspired experience to jump into," says Rick Li, Producer of PUBG MOBILE and Deputy General Manager of Quantum Studio, LightSpeed Studios, Tencent Games.

The update also introduces the Star Upgrade system. You can convert extra Brainrots into higher-star versions by selecting two of the same type and star level through the fusion system. Success means your Brainrot gets bigger, produces more Coins per second, and becomes more valuable. If fusion fails, you get a success-rate bonus for your next attempt. Keep at it, and you can upgrade a Brainrot all the way to Meteor tier.

Version 4.6 is also amping up player interactions. Now, when you walk up to another player, you can view their profile card, add them as a friend, exchange popularity gifts, or hand over one of your Brainrots. You can send Brainrots directly to another player's backpack or base, making it easier to share your collection. "World of Wonder gives us the opportunity to keep expanding the ways players can experience PUBG MOBILE, and Brainrot Royale is a great example of that," says Vincent Wang, General Manager and Head of PUBG MOBILE Publishing, Tencent Games.

There are also quality-of-life improvements. Your backpack can now hold up to 64 Brainrots, and once it's full, you can't pick up more until you organize your collection or sell lower-value ones. Your Base gets more room too, with the Rebirth level cap raised by five additional levels. Each new level unlocks another base slot, giving you more space for Brainrots and Coin-producing facilities. So what are you waiting for? The pumpkin-themed update is live now in World of Wonder as part of Version 4.6. Will you be diving into the Ghost Ship chaos?
