Did you ever think you'd get another excuse to hunt orcs on a Nintendo console? Well, here it is. Middle-earth: Shadow of War and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor are both launching on September 30 for Switch 2.
That's right — the two games that let you build your own personal nemesis and then chase him across an entire region are heading to Nintendo's new hardware. If you missed them the first time around, this is a pretty clean way to catch up on some of the most memorable action-RPG combat of the last decade.
Want to get ahead of the crowd? Pre-orders for both titles are now live. Even better, there's a bundle discount if you decide to pick up both games together. No word on exactly how big that discount is, but if you were already planning to grab the pair, buying them as a set is the obvious move.
For anyone who hasn't played them, here's the quick pitch. Shadow of Mordor kicked things off with the Nemesis system — a clever bit of design that remembered your failures and turned them into ongoing rivalries. Shadow of War took that idea and blew it up into a full-scale war for Mordor, with fortress assaults and army building on top.
Getting both on Switch 2 means you can play through the story in order without switching platforms, and the bundle makes that a little easier on your wallet. It's a nice bit of housekeeping for anyone who skipped the series on PS4 or Xbox One.
September 30 is the date to circle on your calendar. Pre-orders are open right now, so you've got time to decide whether you're jumping in solo or grabbing the bundle. Either way, the door to Mordor is about to open on Switch 2.
