Cyberpunk TCG Edgerunners Expansion Reveals Maine's Shotgun

Remember when the Cyberpunk trading card game broke Kickstarter records? Well, it's already getting its first expansion, and it's pulling straight from the anime you love.

WeirdCo has announced Edgerunners: Burn Bright, the first expansion for the Cyberpunk TCG, set to launch in Spring 2027. The set will bring characters, locations, and moments from the hit Netflix series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners into the card game, along with new mechanics that will be revealed closer to release. There's also a new chase rarity coming, though WeirdCo is keeping the details under wraps for now.

We've got an exclusive first look at one of the cards from the set: Zhou, Maine's Answer. That's right—it's the two-handed shotgun wielded by Maine, the leader of the crew that David Martinez joins in the first season of Edgerunners. The artwork shows off the weapon in all its gritty glory.

While we don't know Zhou's exact abilities yet, we can make a pretty good guess. It's likely a powerful Gear card that boosts whoever it's equipped to. And since it's Maine's signature weapon, there's a good chance it'll give an extra bonus when equipped to Maine himself. But we'll have to wait for the full reveal to know for sure.

The Cyberpunk TCG first made waves earlier this year when its Kickstarter became the highest-funded game in the platform's history. With the launch set now out in the wild, Edgerunners: Burn Bright is the next step for the game, and it's clear WeirdCo is leaning hard into the anime's popularity.

Edgerunners: Burn Bright will be available in both local game stores and big-box retailers when it launches in Spring 2027. That's still a while away, but with the anime's fanbase and the TCG's record-breaking start, this expansion is already one to watch.
