Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Release Window Tightens to Late 2027

Are you hyped for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3? Well, you might have to wait a bit longer, but at least now we have a tighter window. Bandai Namco just announced that the upcoming brawler will launch in the second half of 2027, narrowing it down from the previously stated 2027. That's still a while away, but it's better than a vague 12-month window, right?

The news came straight from producer Masayuki Hirano, who shared a message with fans. He mentioned that the team has been revealing new info over the past few months and has been listening to all your feedback. "We are truly grateful for that support," he said. Based on survey results and feedback, they've already had discussions with the dev team and plan to make improvements in certain areas. That's a good sign that they're paying attention to what you have to say.

Hirano also emphasized that Xenoverse is a series built together with the players, not just at launch but throughout its post-launch life. "To fully realize our ambitions for both the launch experience and the content we plan to operate and support afterward, the release window is currently set for the latter half of 2027," he explained. So, they're taking the time to make sure the game launches in a good state and that there's plenty of content to keep you playing.

He wrapped up by saying that the team might stay quiet for a while now. "We may keep you waiting a little longer until our next update, but we are fully committed to making 2027 a great year for Dragon Ball game fans, and we will do everything we can to make that happen." So don't expect a ton of news in the immediate future, but rest assured they're working hard behind the scenes.

If you're eager to learn more about the game, IGN recently went hands-on with Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. They got their first chance to play it back in June, so you can check out their preview impressions for a taste of what's to come. It's a multiplayer-enabled brawler, so expect plenty of action and customization options.

Overall, the narrowed window gives us a clearer idea of when we'll get our hands on the sequel to the 2016 fan-favorite. It's a bummer that it's not coming sooner, but if the extra time means a better game, it's probably worth the wait. What do you think about the delay? Are you still excited for Xenoverse 3?
